What does a background check cover, and how much does it cost?

Background checks are a useful and legal way to gain information about a person to confirm that the background they purport is true. The checks are bespoke to what is required by the client so as not to gain information which is already known or irrelevant. The information that we are commonly requested to gain is as follows however not limited to;

Background check, client case study

A recent case that we have been given permission to share was when we were approached by a new client. He was a high earning professional who married seven years ago and who was a housewife. With no prior warning, she left the marital home without a trace along with a large sum of money and a high-end vehicle. Titan was approached by the husband who wanted to know as much as possible in regard to his wife’s background.

Whilst performing various research into previous relationships, marriages and divorces; criminal history and previous places of residence, we uncovered something that no one was expecting. From analysing various images of the wife from different angles, we were able to input these into a piece of software which searches images on the internet.

The software identified a number of images of the wife going back 10 years on escort sights where she was offering sexual services to the public. This was a massive shock to the client but nonetheless very useful for litigation and divorce proceedings. Although this was an extreme case, background checks are a powerful tool to utilise prior to allowing an individual close to you, your family or your business.
