Titan Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update – Titan’s Managing Director Updates on His Adventures & Experiences Whilst Helping On The Frontline With The Unsung HEROES During The Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Coronavirus (COVID-19) has changed human life as we know it on all levels; our freedom and movement, business, finances, priorities and education just to name a few. Our world has been turned upside down.

There are many of our Nation that can truly be called heroes in these desperate times, although we tend to only think of our greatly appreciated NHS staff and Police Service. However, there are so many more who deserve to be recognised and clapped in addition. Many of these who we don’t think of are on the minimum wage all-year-round taking home less than £1000 a month and in these current times are continuing to work. They are not only risking their own health by being infected by this indiscriminate virus but also their families. The virus, if infected by it appears to be similar to a lottery as regards whether your body fights it or allows it to kill you. We have all heard the harrowing incidents of where young, healthy individuals with no existing or underlying medical conditions have been taken from their loved ones by this virus whilst others experience mild symptoms.

As we reported on 25th March 2020, Titan closed its 8 offices located within London, Cambridge, Leicester, Nottingham, Derby, Birmingham, Sheffield and Leeds. Simon Henson, our Managing Director decided to dedicate his time to deliver medical supplies and equipment to the vulnerable which allowed our NHS hospitals to create space for Coronavirus patients.

Simon joined the MedEquip workforce from 8 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday, operating from one of their Derbyshire based depots delivering vital medical equipment to the vulnerable. This role along with many others, such as the Royal Mail, delivery/ lorry drivers, cleaners, supermarket workers, community healthcare staff and manufacturers are all jobs where employees are paid the minimum wage all year and during these times are going to work daily and risking being infected.

A Wage Slip after 4 Days of 8 hours

The NHS and Police roles are not comparable on a skill level with the minimum wage roles as they currently require a minimum entry level of at least a degree and much medical staff proceed to Masters level and beyond. We’re not wishing to play down the important role our fantastic NHS and Police Service and the heroic actions being displayed on a daily basis, but rather to highlight the role of other keyworker heroes who are not in the spotlight. These heroes also risk their lives every day and earn a pittance in comparison.

Titan Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update – A Frontline Role

So, what Has Titan’s Managing Director Simon Henson been up to in his new voluntary role over the last two weeks? Each day Simon has worked from 8 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday visiting between 22 and 27 residential properties daily, some of which have either tested positive for COVID-19 or suspected.
