Basic Surveillance Training
Titan’s 5-Day Basic Surveillance Course is aimed at students endeavouring to enter into the private/commercial surveillance industry with little or no previous experience.
Basic Surveillance Course (5-Day) – RQF Level 4 in Covert Surveillance Operations qualification.
£1,200 + VAT (£1,440)
If students wish to gain the RQF Level 4 qualification then a £420 admin fee is required on completion of the course which will be payable to the Institute of Professional Investigators (IPI). The total costs of the course is then £1,860.

Basic Surveillance Course (5-Day)
The IPI deliver the Award in Covert Surveillance (basic) level 4. The awarding body is Skills for Justice (SFJ). The IPI Surveillance training provider is the Titan Academy. On behalf of the IPI Titan Academy, deliver high quality formal Surveillance training using IPI Members who are fully accredited Assessors.
This course is an intensive course that exceeds the requirements of the RQF level 4 qualification and is designed to meet the needs of any student wishing to immediately commence work as a trained surveillance operative. Students must be physically fit and have a reasonable level of competence in basic IT skills and the use of modern communications methods. This course will involve 17 hours of pre – course online training lessons, 19 modules of surveillance theory input and extensive practical exercises conducted over 5 long training days at the Titan Academy Derbyshire training centre. After successful completion of the course, students will be provided with ongoing support via the Titan Private investigation ‘GROW‘ mentor support program. In addition to this, successful students will also be eligible to apply for IPI full membership.
Please note:
If English is not your 1st Language first language, you need to provide a certificate of IELTS equivalence in order to be registered to attend the course. All payment for the course will be made to the Training centre, the IPI who will administer the course on behalf of the Titan Academy. The cost of the course is £1,200 + VAT (£1,440). Simon Henson – Senior Instructor
Simon brings a wealth of operational and training experience to Titan’s surveillance courses. He began his 17 years Police service in 1997 where he quickly diversified into the covert world, operating as a surveillance operative/investigator.
As a Detective Sergeant, he managed surveillance operations Nationally combatting Serious Organised Crime (SOC) before moving into Counter-Terrorism. Simon spent many years engaged in combatting terrorist attack planning both in the UK and abroad working in the following roles;
Having overseen the development and training of probationary CTIU Surveillance Operators, Simon is perfectly placed in being selected to co-author and deliver Titan’s Training Courses. Since leaving the Police, Simon has been working worldwide within the top tier of the commercial surveillance sector.
Why Choose Titan as your surveiilance training provider?
The main reason is that you receive double the tuition at a ratio of 1 instructor to 2 students however, it is almost double the cost. The advanced course will help with your confidence and ability however, the Intermediate RQF Level 4 won’t put you at a disadvantage. We have had some great students through the intermediate course who are complete success stories when combining the intermediate qualification with Titan’s ”GROW” student aftercare programme. Some providers offer an 8-week course and allegedly receive expressions of interest. Such courses will realistically cost £8000 and eight weeks of missed revenue generation whilst training. This in our opinion is only suitable for the Government and corporate sector where the budget is much larger. These courses are not commercially viable, hence why Titan don’t provide such courses as there is no demand.
Titan Investigations is predominantly an operational investigation agency with nine offices located between London and Manchester allowing us to offer surveillance deployments Nationally. Titan developed its training arm in 2017 to ensure that operational demand was met. Titan Graduates are automatically enrolled onto Titan’s “GROW” Student Aftercare Programme where they are allocated a qualified mentor, added to the Titan resourcing group and further developed operationally whilst earning. Most training providers have little if any involvement with you following the completion of their courses. Titan are different and will invest in your future development providing you with operational opportunities to ensure your further success and to enable you to earn straight away.
